Prayer is a doorway. Its were we talk and interact with God, its where we ask and its through which God acts. The presence and power of God are involved in prayer from beginning to end. He created the avenue of prayer; it is a gift to us. Prayer tells us that God desires us and that we need Him. God speaks, hears and answers. Prayer is the place to experience all three.

7"Then the one inside answers, 'Don't bother me. The door is already locked, and my children are with me in bed. I can't get up and give you anything.' 8I tell you, though he will not get up and give him the bread because he is his friend, yet because of the man's boldness[e] he will get up and give him as much as he needs. ''
9"So I say to you: Ask and it will be given to you; seek and you will find; knock and the door will be opened to you. 10For everyone who asks receives; he who seeks finds; and to him who knocks, the door will be opened.''
''7If you remain in me and my words remain in you, ask whatever you wish, and it will be given you. 8This is to my Father's glory, that you bear much fruit, showing yourselves to be my disciples.''
1 John 5
''14This is the confidence we have in approaching God: that if we ask anything according to his will, he hears us. 15And if we know that he hears us—whatever we ask—we know that we have what we asked of him.
